Birthday party wrap up

Posted on: November 29, 2011

As I mentioned last week, this past weekend we had “G”‘s First Birthday party.  It was hectic and busy but a lot of fun.  And, as promised, I have pictures for you.

Since we had 45-50 people attending, we had the party at a park cabin.  It was so much nicer than trying to cram everyone in my mom’s house.  And, it ended up being a really nice day out, about 60/62 degrees, so all the kids were able to play outside and enjoy the nice weather.

We decorated the cabin with a Sesame Street banner and tablecloths, plain color tablecloths, balloons, and some Sesame Street streamers.  It looked great!

We got everything set up just in time and our guests began to arrive.  The food was delivered on time and we got the food table all set up and ready to go.  We had ordered subs from a local sub shop and two of my aunts made macaroni salad and jello. It was a delicious spread!

After we ate and relaxed for a bit it was time for cake.  I couldn’t wait to put the cake in front of my little monkey to see what he would do and he didn’t disappoint!  He dug right in and had himself a good ‘ol time eating his frosting and cake.  Here are some pictures of the large cake (for the adults) and “G”‘s “smash cake”.

That's the little "smash" cake in front.

Here is “G” enjoying his cake:

After everyone had their cake and my little man was all cleaned up from getting so messy, it was present time.  My Great Aunt held “G” as we opened presents. It was so sweet to see him sitting with her laughing, tearing the paper, and staring at all his new toys, books and clothes.
At the end of the party, we were all exhausted.  It was a long day but well worth it!  It was so great to spend time with family and friends and celebrate my little monkey’s first birthday.  I couldn’t have asked for a better day!

Where is that cake from? Amazing!

Amy, the cake is from a bakery in Rochester, NY. We went there for Thanksgiving and had his party there. It’s called Premier Pastry. They did such a great job! I loved it!

So cute! What a great party and the cake is awesome!!!! Happy Birthday G!!

thanks Brooke!

Yeah, it looks like it was a successful day for everyone and most of all little G had a blast! I’m happy for you two that you were able to go be with your family and that G was loved on for sure! He is turning into a handsome little man!

Thanks Ranay!
