Why grocery shopping just got easier

Please note: This is NOT a sponsored post. I am not being compensated by WalMart for writing this post. I’m just a tired mama excited about an easier way to grocery shop!

Mothers of the world, rejoice! Grocery shopping just got easier thanks to WalMart.

Any mom who’s ever had to take their children grocery shopping, knows what a struggle it is. Whether you have one child or more with you, grocery shopping with children is not an enjoyable experience. There are the constant cries of “I want candy,” “Can we get those chips,” “Why can’t we get what I want,” “I’m hungry.” Then, if your children are like mine, there is the absolute refusal to ride in the shopping cart anymore and insisting (and by that I mean throwing a fit, of course) on walking beside you. But walking alongside mommy leads to pulling items we don’t need off the shelves and throwing them into the cart. This may or may not result in some spillage or breakage of items and result in the need for a “clean up on aisle 5.” There are also multiple trips to the bathroom, fighting with siblings and crying, “are we done yet? When are we going home.” And it all leads to an exhausted and frustrated mommy.

Well Walmart has just turned those frustrating trips to the store into a thing of the past. You can now order your groceries online and then pick them up at the store, for NO EXTRA COST! Yep, you heard that right. All you do is go to walmart.com/grocery, create an account, order your groceries and then pick them up at your local store on a date and time of your choosing. No more hour long, aggravating trips to the store. No more waiting in long lines to check out after an already exhausting ordeal of just getting through the store.

I don’t know about you, but that sure has this mama dancing for joy!

When I found out my local Walmart was offering this service, I couldn’t wait to try it out! So, I did just that last week and you know what? It was fabulous!

I went online to walmart.com/grocery, created an account, picked my local store and a date and time I wanted to pick up my groceries (you pick an hour time slot in which you’d like to pick them up). Then, I just filled my virtual cart up with all my groceries and checked out. Super easy!

The next morning, I received a phone call at the start of the hour time slot I had selected letting me know my groceries were ready. I drove to the store to pick them up and parked in a designated spot. I called the number back once I arrived and they brought my groceries out to my car within 5 minutes.

The employee who brought my groceries out was very friendly and made sure I was happy with everything. He showed me all the produce so I could check it, let me know if anything wasn’t available and they had to substitute another item. For this order, I had two items that needed substitutions. The Walmart employee checked with me to make sure the substitutions were ok (And, get this…if the substituted items are more expensive than the ones you ordered, they will ALWAYS charge the lower amount! So you don’t have to worry about paying more money for the substituted items). He then loaded everything into my car for me. Since this was my first order, I also received a small gift bag of goodies.

I absolutely loved this service and I can’t wait to do it again! It was easy, saved me time in my day, and allowed me to keep some of my sanity. And, what’s great about this service is that there are absolutely no service charges or fees! They don’t even hike the price of the groceries up! You pay the same price as you would in the store and you only pay for the groceries and tax.

So if you’re like me and don’t enjoy your weekly trip to the grocery store, you may want to check to see if your local Walmart is offering this brand new service. I promise you, you won’t regret it!

What do you think of this new service Walmart is offering?
