To say my weight has fluctuated over the years is an understatement.  My weight has been anywhere from 115-165 (not counting pregnancy weight).  I’ve definitely had a love-hate relationship with the scale.  More on the hate end of it than the love end.  But, let’s be real here, what woman doesn’t feel that way?  Even our girlfriends who are super thin and beautiful with “perfect” bodies complain about their weight.

Somewhere over the past four years though, my weight began to take me on a scary roller coaster ride of ups and downs and twists and turns.  Before I became pregnant with “G” I gained about 30 pounds.  FOR NO GOOD REASON.  Yep.  Just 30 extra pounds sitting on my hips, thighs, and stomach laughing at me.  And then, I got pregnant.  And we all know what pregnancy can do to a woman.  I gained extra weight and it stayed with me after he was born.  When “G” was 6 months old my husband was deployed overseas.  I decided I would surprise my husband and lose weight while he was gone.  And I did.  Lost 20 pounds.  But, somewhere over the next couple of years, it found it’s way back.  Then, I got pregnant with “RJ” and thought I was doomed for sure.  However, I was pleasantly surprised when I lost ALL my pregnancy weight within about 4 months after “RJ” was born.  However, I’m no where near where I used to be or where I want to be.

Well, the time for complaining is over and the time to do something about it is here.

I’ve started working out and am adjusting my diet as well to ensure I’ll be able to lose weight and be healthy and in shape.  I’m getting some help from my friend Christine, who is also attempting to lose weight.  She’s currently doing a blog series called “What’s on my plate.  Meal hacks for the every – woman”  where she talks about the healthy meals she’s eating in order to lose weight.  I’m carefully following along and incorporating her delicious meals into my family meal time.

I’m on week 1 and diving in!  Here goes…
